Background:

UV RESISTANCE LOCUS8 (UVR8) is a unique UV-B photoreceptor that following the absorption of UV-B photons, initiates changes in gene expression. UVR8 is located in the nucleus and the cytosol. Associates with chromatin via histones. UVR8 interaction with COP1 is negatively regulated by RUP1 and RUP2.
