Lysyl-tRNA synthetase 1 (ATKRS-1) structurally and functionally resembles the well-characterized prokaryotic class IIb KRS, including the propensity to aminoacylate tRNALys with suboptimal identity elements, as well as non-cognate tRNAs. AtKRS-1 has the functions including ATP binding, lysine-tRNA ligase activity.
