DPE2 is a cytosolic protein with transglucosidase and amylomaltase activity. It is an essential component of the pathway from starch to sucrose and cellular metabolism in leaves at night. The protein binds to heteroglycans and utilizes glucose, mannose and xylose as acceptors.
