Background:

ANTR2 is an inorganic phosphate transporter (PHT4;4) that can transport ascorbate and is located in the chloroplast envelope membrane. It has been shown to play a role in the xanthophyll cycle during photosynthesis and may be required for tolerance to strong light stress.
