Background:

ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE3 (ABI3), FUSCA3 (FUS3), and LEAFY COTYLEDON2 (LEC2) have been implicated in seed development and belong to the B3 family of TFs. ABI3 participates in abscisic acid-regulated gene expression during seed development. And it regulates the transcription of SGR1 and SGR2 that are involved in leaf and embryo degreening.
