DNA-dependent RNA polymerase catalyzes the transcription of DNA into RNA using the four ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates. NRPB2 is the unique second-largest subunit of DNA-dependent RNA polymerase II which synthesizes mRNA precursors and many functional non-coding RNAs.
